Author Registration Policy
Paper Presentation Fee:
Each paper in the research (full and short), applied, demo, and resource tracks accepted for presentation at the conference must be accompanied by a distinct paper presentation fee. The fee is $150 for full research papers and applied research papers (long papers) and $75 for short research papers, demo papers, and resource papers (short papers).
Conference Registration:
For Research/Applied/Short/Demo/Resource Papers: At least one author of each accepted paper is expected to register for the conference (either 3-Day or 5-Day registration) by August 15, 2024.
If you are an author presenting more than one paper, you should pay a paper publication fee for each accepted paper, but only one conference registration (either 3-Day or 5-Day).
Papers without a valid accompanying registration (Student, ACM Member, or Non-ACM Member) and paper publication fee risk being excluded from the proceedings.
One-Day (Monday Oct. 21 or Friday Oct. 25) registration:
For all submissions accepted to one-day programs, including Industry Day, Tutorials, Workshops, PhD Symposium, and AnalytiCup, at least one presenting author is expected to register for the required day, either via a “One-Day” registration that covers that day (Monday Oct. 21 or Friday Oct. 25) or via a “5-Day” registration.

If you are a student, you may register under either category, you will be asked to verify your student status on the registration form. If you are a student member select ACM Member Registration, if you are NOT a member select the Non-ACM Member registration. The 3-day Conference Registration covers:
- Attendance at the main conference sessions for three days, including keynotes
- Morning/afternoon coffee on those same says
- Access to the conference proceedings via the ACM Digital Library during the period of the conference
- One ticket to the reception
- One ticket to the banquet
- Box lunch on the third day for the CIKM Town Hall meeting
- [subject to meeting financial targets] Box lunch on first and second day of conference
The 5-day Conference Registration covers:
- Same as three-day registration
- Attendance at tutorials, workshops, industry day, and, if invited, the PhD Symposium
- Morning/afternoon coffee on Monday and Friday
- [subject to meeting financial targets] Box lunch on Monday and Friday
The One-day Conference Registration covers:
- Attendance at conference sessions on the nominated day
- Morning/afternoon coffee on the nominated day
- [subject to meeting financial targets] Box lunch on the nominated day
- Does not include attendance at the reception or banquet
Cancellation Policy
No refunds are allowed. Please note that the registration cannot be canceled; the only allowed exception is to transfer the registration to someone else in case of visa denial. Please consult our attendance policy here: https://cikm2024.org/attendance-policy/
Eligibility for Special Rates Policy
Student Registration Rates:
To be eligible for Student Registration rates, attendees must meet the following criteria:
- Be enrolled as full-time students at an accredited educational institution.
- Be able to provide evidence of their full-time student status during registration.
ACM Member Registration Rates:
To be eligible for ACM Member Registration rates, attendees must meet the following criteria:
- Be current members of ACM (Association for Computing Machinery).
- Be able to provide evidence of their membership status during registration.
SIGIR and SIGWEB Student Travel Award Winners:
SIGIR (Special Interest Group on Information Retrieval) and SIGWEB (Special Interest Group on Hypertext, Hypermedia, and the Web) Student Travel Award winners will receive complimentary conference registration (main conference and workshops/tutorials if desired). If you plan to apply for one of these awards, please refrain from registering for the conference until you receive the award notification.
NSF Student Travel Award Winners:
NSF student Travel Awards will cover conference registration (main conference and workshops/tutorials if desired). If you are the recipient of one of these awards, please register by August 15th, 2024.
